Basic Clinch Stance
● Before testing student must perform a 5km run without a problem
● Student must know how to wrap someone else’s hands
● Student must perform legitimate Muay Thai techniques
● 4 months of consistent training is required for testing Level 1

1 elbow 1 counter
How to turn in the clinch
● 12 months of consistent training is required for testing Level 1.3
● Required to know the full Wai-Kru
TESTING MUAY THAI LEVEL 2
Same as LEVEL 1.3 PLUS
4 punch combination (how to defend the punches)
4 elbows (how to defend the elbow)
4 knees (how to defend the knee)
4 kicks (how to defend the kick)
4 clinch techniques
● 17 months of consistent training is required for testing Level 2
● Sparring will be required to pass test (3 rounds of 3 minutes with a partner)
○ Sparring must be clean and technical if someone gets hurt or KO you
automatically fail test

8 punches (how to defend and counter the punches)
8 elbows (how to defend and counter the elbows)
8 knees (how to defend and counter the knees)
8 kicks (how to defend and counter the kicks)
8 clinch techniques (how to defend and counter and/or counter the clinch)
● Need to understand ring control: how to cut the ring off, how to use ropes to your
advantage
● 36 months of consistent training is required for testing Level 3
● Sparring with strikes and clinch will be required to pass test (5 rounds of 3 minutes with
partner)
○ Sparring must be clean and technical if someone gets hurt or KO you
automatically fail test
TESTING MUAY THAI LEVEL 3.2

● 45 months of consistent training is required for testing Level 3.2

● Must be able to teach what you have learned
